Chicago Cubs World Series tickets at center of emergency petition

Harry Caray was the announcer for the Chicago Cubs home games for 17 years. His iconic glasses have had a place in Wrigley Field history for many years. With the Cubs' World Series win, fans took the time to place green apples on the grave of their beloved Cubs' fan.

However, not all of the Cubs' baseball fans were ready for Game 4 of the series to start at Wrigley. The Associated Press obtained court documents that the wife of a divorcing couple had filed -- an Emergency Petition for World Series Tickets." The new story, which was published before the Cubs won the series, highlighted the wife's complaint that her husband had two tickets to Game 4. She wanted the tickets.

The judge heard arguments and then ruled that the husband could take the couple's 12-year-old son to the game with the tickets he had, but he also had to buy a ticket for his soon-to-be ex-wife. The ticket had to be in a similar section of Wrigley.

Those tickets don't come cheap; starting prices were around $3,000. Tickets to prime box seats were for sale on StubHub for over $100,000.

The attorney for the husband said that his client got the World Series ticket because it was part of a season-ticket package deal he bought with friends before the divorce. The attorney also said that he objected to the ticket issue being an emergency simply because the Cubs hadn't been to the World Series in 71 years and that the team might not return to the World Series in the woman's lifetime.

Divorce proceedings can be quite complex, especially where property division is concerned. An attorney experienced in high asset divorce and property distribution can provide information on how to proceed with the divorce and your legal options.
